Water repellency is the ability to make water "bead" and roll-off the fabric. Water repellency treatment is applied generally with a surface finish on the outer layer .They tend to wear and wash off for the most part with time and laundry aggressions.

A long lasting water repellent garment is therefore essential as water soaking into the outer fibers will destroy breathability. advantex™ pushes the limits of durable water repellency thanks to a unique in-depth silicone-based fiber grafting process that will constantly repel water in all conditions.

Waterproofness is the ability for a fabric and the garment to withstand a water pressure (symbolised by a column height of water). Usually a water column of 2000 mm is admitted as acceptable to function in heavy conditions.
For a garment to be classified as 100% waterproof all seams must be factory sealed or taped on the inside of the fabric (or water penetrates stitch holes).

advantex™ garments develop waterproofing  that exceed by far the usual requirements. Water columns over 10 meters are commonly achieved. Moreover the composite can be fully taped to assure a 100% waterproof garment.
